Combined chlorine is chlorine trying
 to work and gets locked up because
of organic materials in water.
If pool has strong chlorine smell it is combined chlorine in water.
Use No chlorine shock to lower. If pool has no smell it is TotalChlorine. Use Chlorine to raise the level.

Ideal Ranges
1.0 ppm - 2.0 ppm
Alkalinity

When alkalinity is High. Adjust it down first.
Then adjust the PH. NOTE: When adding to pool turn off filter, pour chemical in deep end or 1 area & leave filter off 1 hr. then turn on filter.

Ideal Ranges
Plaster: 80 ppm - 125 ppm
Vinyl, Painted & Fiberglass:
125 ppm - 150 ppm

PH

If PH is low it will eat up the
alkalinity.
PH will not effect the alkalinity.
Ideal Range
7.4 ppm - 7.6 ppm
Soft Water

NOT GOOD on equipment &
effects Chemicals.Soft water will
also stretch liners. Soft water will
etch plaster pools.

COPPER

When copper is presented
in water. Use stain & scale to
lower metals. Then use filter
aid to filter out. Do not shock
for 2 days.
Then adjust PH & Alkalinity.
Purple On Wall

Test for-magnesium Put dry
acid in white cottonsock.
Put up against the wall.
It takes the purple off. Treat with stain & scale.
DON’T shock for 7 days or
till chlorine level is 1.0 or lower.

Cyanuric Acid

To high cyanuric Acid in water
with copper level 2.0.Treat with
stain & scale & filter aid.
Be sure chlorine level is low
 before you treat.
Ideal Range
40 ppm
Clear Comfort Pool

To Change Pool Back to Chlorine
Add 5 lbs. Oxidizer Per 10,000 gals.
of Water. Water will turn to
Brown Color. Then Flock Down.

Organic Waste

Leaves, Yard Sprays
Swimmer or bather
waste, Animals, Birds,
Bird Droppings Soap,
Deodorant, Suntan Lotion,
Body Oils, Sweat,
Spit,Urine, Dust, Insects
and more.
Organic Stain

Put 3” Tab up against the
side wall where stain is.
If bleaches out - Put shock in pool 
Metallic Stain- Put Dry Acid up
against wall if bleaches out Put
Stain & Scales in Pool.

  Too Much Calcium

Too much calcium will cause
scale build up.
Too Lower - add Stain & Scale
To Little Calcium will promote corrosion.
To Lower - Add Calcium Hardness
Ideal Ranges
Plaster - 175 - 225
Liners - 200 - 275

ALWAYS ADD YOUR WATER FIRST.
THEN ADD YOUR CHEMICAL
TO THE WATER. NEVER WATER TO CHEMICAL
