Opening Pools
Taking Solid Cover Off You need to pump off all the water on the cover, take out all the leaves, brush down cover and hose off at the same time. If you have a pump on top of the cover try to get the cover cleaned as the pump is taking the water off the cover. When finished let the cover dry. When dry take the cover off. If you want to clean the other side put the cover on the ground with the clean side down. Hose and brush till clean. When dry fold the cover and store in a dry closed up place so mice and aunts don’t get to it.
Taking Mesh Cover Off Get the tool that was sent with the cover to take off the anchors. Let the cover dry, fold cover and store where mice and aunts will not get to it. Screw down all the brass anchors.
Filter, Motor & Pump After you uncover the pool, put ladders and hand rails in place and screw them down tight. Put all plugs back into the pump, Motor, Filter, Heater and Automatic Feeder. Fill the pool up so there is about 1” opening in the skimmer. Or if you going to vacuum on waste fill thepool up as far as you can go. NOTE: You can fill the pool up a day before you start opening it.
Clean lines out Take all the Gizzmos out of the skimmers and take all the plugs out of the returns. Put all the Basket’s back into the skimmers and pumps. Put all jet’s or eyeballs into the return’s. Now set the dial Valve on waste and prim the pump before starting the motor. When the motor gets going let it run for 15 seconds. This will get the anti-freeze out of most of the lines. Do not put the dial valve on filter till you have vacuumed the Pool and it is clean. OR till you have shocked it and all the GREEN is gone. The water will be white and cloudy in color. Then you can set the Valve on filter. If it is green you want to set the valve on recalculation till it looks like milk. If you don’t understand PLEASE CALL! We can HELP YOU.
Shocking Pool If the pool is green, Shock it with Calcium Hypo Chlorite and use a Algaecide so it won’t come back. And remember to let the filter run on recalculate till the water turns to a milky white color. Before setting the valve on filter position. NOTE: If you have a D.E. Filter don’t forget toput in your D.E. Powder when you set the valve on filter. When the pool is vacuumed and clean bring in a 16 oz bottle of your poolwater, so I can test it.
