Chlorinated Pools.gif

  Twice a week:
*Test the chlorine residual & the pH. The total & free chlorine residual should be 1-3 ppm, & there should be no difference in the two readings. If the total chlorine residual is higher than the free chlorine residual, then chloramines are present & the pool should be shocked. The pH should be maintained at 7.4-7.6*Check the skimmer baskets & empty as needed*Clean the tile or pool water line with surface cleaner.*Skim leaves, insects & other floating debris from the pool.

 Weekly:
*Brush & Vacuum the pool. *If the pool is residential, you can use 1 bag of non-chlorine per 10,000 gallons. Swimmers can re-enter the water 15 minutes after applying the Oxidizer.*Add a maintenance algaecide dose of Algaecide 60 according to label instructions. Additional chlorine shock May be needed after a rain storm, heavy bather load, or exceptionally hot weather.*If the pool is commercial and heavily used, shock with Sodium Diclor or Cal-hypochlorite according to labelinstruction.

 Every 2 weeks:
*If the pool is residential, you can use a copper base algaecide & shock the pool according to label instructions. Use a Stain & Scale to lower Copper if it is to HighWhen raising Chlorine Levels use: Sodium-Diclor or Cal-Hypo.When Chlorine levels are ok use: Non-Chlorine Shock

  Monthly:
*Perform a complete water analysis & follow recommendations for adjustment.

  Every 6 weeks:
*Chemically clean the filter with Filter Cleaner.
*Soak or spray paper cartridges & grids with filter

As needed:
  *Backwash the filter.
*Take out your grids & hose off.
*Keep chlorinating tablets or sticks replenished in your automatic feeder, floater or skimmer basket to ensure consistent sanitation.
